JRDsat

Recent advancements in space technology have significantly reduced the cost of launching objects into orbit. However, the development and manufacturing costs of spacecraft remain too high for many individuals and organizations. The KickSat project, initiated in 2019, demonstrated a breakthrough in this area by successfully deploying over 100 chip-sized satellites into low-Earth orbit, with each satellite costing less than one hundred dollars in components (Abate, 2019). This approach to satellite development is appealing due to its low cost, which is often achieved by using Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components that can be easily sourced and integrated into a single design.
